The Hockey Hall of Fame is a highly commercialized, ultra-modern tribute to Canada's national sport – though you wouldn't think so from the outside: the only part of the Hall visible from the street is the old Bank of Montréal building, a Neoclassical edifice dating back to 1885. The bank's doors have been blocked off and the interior bowdlerized to house a collection of hockey trophies that constitutes a small part of the Hockey Hall of Fame, whose entrance is below ground in the adjacent BCE Place shopping mall.
