Getting around

The best way to explore St John's is on foot, but for the more outlying attractions you might want to catch a bus. These are operated by Metrobus (timetable information on 709/722-9400, www.metrobus.com ), which has a dozen or so routes serving most parts of the city. Services are frequent Monday through Saturday, infrequent on Sundays. A standard single fare costs $2, a ten-ride pass $18; tickets are from the driver, exact fare only.
