The zoo has over 1300 animals and a giant tropical conservatory with a foyer displaying local artwork, a steamy Palm House, floral displays and a restaurant. A statue of Winnie the Pooh on the zoo grounds is a reminder that the fictitious bear was named after a real bear called Winnipeg.
