The Mediterranean coast and the Hatay

Konyaaltı

Address: Konyaaltı is easiest reached by the west-bound tram – get off at the terminus (just past the archeological museum) and follow the road down the steep hill (five minutes' walk)

Antalya's lengthy western beach, Konyaaltı, now spruced up, is finally beginning to live up to its dramatic situation between Antalya's cliffs and the Beydağları mountains. It's shingle, rather than sand, but it's clean and well maintained. Entry to the beach is free, and loungers and umbrellas are available for a modest fee. Those with children should be aware that the beach shelves quite steeply and there is a slight tow from west to east. A pleasant promenade lined with palm trees and cafés backs the beach.
