The Golden Pass
The Golden Pass is one of the showcase journeys of Swiss railways – you must pay a small supplement on the special panoramic trains, but not on the ordinary ones.
The trains from Montreux climb above the town, passing first through the village of Chamby and continuing up on a spectacular route, coiling through the villages of Les Avants and Montbovon. The Golden Pass line continues east to Château d'Oex and Gstaad, and runs out at Zweisimmen.
