Set in the thirteenth-century Gråbröder ("Greyfriars") Monastery, this museum contains the usual local history collections, given piquancy here by their preserved medieval surroundings. After the monks were driven out during the Reformation, the monastery was at various times a hospital, a poorhouse, a distillery and, finally, a dump. A decision to demolish it in 1901 was overturned, and today it's definitely worth a visit. The monastery gardens (open 24hr; tours available in summer) consist of spice, vegetable and medicinal herb gardens and a wonderful rose garden.
