The Kaknäs TV Tower

    Address: Ladugårdsgärdet

Opening time: Daily: May– Aug 9am–10pm; Sept– April 10am–9pm

    Price: 30kr

At 160m, the Kaknäs TV Tower (Kaknästornet) is one of the highest buildings in Scandinavia, allowing fabulous views over the city and archipelago; there's a restaurant about 120m up, should you fancy a vertiginous cup of coffee or lunch (65kr). If you come here by bus, you'll pass a gaggle of sundry (and eminently missable) museums – Dance, Maritime, Technical and Ethnographical – while north of the tower beyond Ladugårdsgärdet, where windmills used to pierce the skyline, lies first Frihamnen, where the Tallink ferry from Estonia docks and, just beyond that, Värtahamnen and the Silja Line ferry terminal for Finland.
