Katarina kyrka
Address: Högbergsgatan
The Renaissance-style Katarina kyrka stands on the site where the victims of the Stockholm Bloodbath – the betrayed nobility of Sweden who opposed King Christian II's Danish invasion – were buried in 1520. Their bodies were burned as heretics outside the city walls and it proved a vicious and effective coup, Christian disposing of the opposition in one fell swoop. The murdered politician Anna Lindh lies buried in the graveyard behind the church.
