Take time out to visit the Trädgårdsföreningen, or Garden Society Park. For once, this park really does lives up to its blurb – "a green oasis in the heart of the city". Among the trees and lawns are a surprising number of experimental sculptures, designed to blend in with their natural surroundings. Within the park, the Palm House (daily: June– Aug 10am–6pm; Sept– May 10am–4pm; 20kr, ticket covers entry to the Botanical Gardens), built in 1878, looks like a huge English-style conservatory and contains a wealth of very un-Swedish plant life.
