Sweden's largest amusement park, Liseberg, dates from 1923 and is a league away from today's neon and plastic entertainment complexes, with flowers, trees, fountains and clusters of lights – more Hansel and Gretel than Disneyland. Old and young dance to live bands, and while the young and raucous predominate at night, it's all good-humoured. The two newest attractions are the "Kanonen" roller coaster, which shoots you from 0 to 75km/hr in under two seconds, and a traditional wooden big dipper, "Balder".
