Getting Around
Apart from excursions north of the river or to the islands, almost everywhere of interest in Gothenburg is within easy walking distance of the centre. The wide streets are pedestrian-friendly, and the canals and grid layout of the avenues make orientation simple. If you're staying further out, however, some sort of transport may be necessary; consult the maps in the Göteborg Guide.
