Valencia and Murcia
Arrival
The main train station, Estación de Madrid, on Avenida Salamanca, has direct connections to Madrid, Albacete, Murcia and Valencia. Travel to Benidorm and Denia is now facilitated by the FGV tram. From Mercado Central, the red #1 line offers a direct journey to Benidorm/Denia; from Puerta del Mar, you'll need to change at La Isleta. The tram will eventually stop at Plaza Luceros, the train station and the airport; fares start at €1.05. The bus station for local and long-distance services is on c/Portugal 13. The airport is 12km south of the centre, in El Altet. The #C-6 bus service into town (6.55am–11.10pm, every 40min; €1.50) stops outside the bus station and on the central Rambla Méndez Núñez. Going the other way, the bus leaves from Plaza Puerta del Mar (6.30am–10.20pm).
