3 El Candil Plaça de la Font 13. Fashionable, friendly café by day, which transforms into a cellar bar with exposed stone arches and tapas at night, with a wide selection of herbal teas, hot chocolate and coffees as well as beer and cava. Opening time: Daily 11am–3pm & 5pm– midnight
4 El Cau c/Trinquet Vell 2 Situated in an underground Roman vault in the old town, this dark venue has live indie-pop or rock every Sat night. Opening time: Daily 10pm–4am
5 Moto Club Tarragona Rambla Nova 53 Busy and ever-popular rambla bar since 1953, with seating outside and a range of tapas and snacks to accompany the tinto, cava or Spanish beers. Opening time: Daily 7am– midnight or 2am
