The train station is in Eixample: when you arrive, turn right and climb the steps ahead of you and you'll emerge at the top of the Rambla Nova, from where everything is a short walk away. In addition to the regular trains, there are now hourly high-speed AVE trains from Barcelona Sants, which have cut journey times to Tarragona to thirty-five minutes. However, tickets are pricey and the Camp de Tarragona AVE station is ten minutes out of town, which involves as taxi ride into the centre. The bus terminal is at the other end of the Rambla Nova, at Plaça Imperial Tarraco.
