One of Girona's best-known landmarks is the blunt tower of the Església de Sant Feliu, nicely framed as you descend the cathedral steps. Shortened by a lightning strike in 1581, the belfry tops a hemmed-in church that happily combines Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles. The north transept contains the tomb of Sant Narcís, patron of the city, while some elegantly sculpted Roman and early Christian sarcophagi are embedded in the wall either side of the high altar.
