Bus and train stations are on opposite sides of the city, each about fifteen-minutes' walk from the centre or a €5 taxi ride. From the bus station (Avda. de Filiberto Villalobos) turn right and keep going straight until you reach Plaza Mayor. From the train station, go left down the Paseo de la Estación to Plaza de España, from where c/Azafranal or c/Toro lead directly to the Plaza Mayor. Driving into the centre, all the main hotels and car parks are clearly signposted. You'll be able to unload outside most hotels (though not on every street in the old centre), but street parking is usually restricted to two hours, so it's best to use one of the garages or car parks (around €16–20 per day).
