Marked by a striking entrance portal lined with onyx, the Museo del Foro de Caesaraugusta is one of four absorbing museums in the Caso Viejo dedicated to Zaragoza's Roman heritage – the city's name derives from that of Caesar Augustus (César Augusto in the Spanish form). This one comprises the ruins (primarily foundations) of the old Roman forum, located in an impressive underground chamber beneath the plaza, as well as a small exhibition including displays of artefacts found on site.

A short walk to the other side of La Seo is the Museo del Puerto Fluvial de Caesaraugusta (same hours), which preserves the remains of Roman river-port buildings.
