The old cathedral, Catedral de San Salvador, known as La Seo, stands at the far end of Plaza del Pilar. The gleaming exterior is essentially Gothic-Mudéjar with minor Baroque and Plateresque additions, while to the left of the mian entrance is a Mudéjar wall with elaborate geometric patterns. Inside, the superb retablo mayor contains some recognizably Teutonic figures executed by the German Renaissance sculptor, Hans of Swabia.
