    1 Bull McCabe's c/Cadiz. One of the most popular of Zaragoza's Irish bars, with two floors and reasonably priced pints of the black stuff. Opening time: Mon– Fri 9.30am–1/2am, Sat 2pm–2.30am, Sun 5pm–2am

    2 La Campana de los Perdidos c/Prudencio 7 Traditional bar with great atmosphere and regular local performers, jazz and folk music in the cave-like cellar. Opening time: Live music Thurs, Fri & Sun from 9pm

    3 La Casa del Loco c/Mayor 10 Rock pub with plenty of live acts, and a mix of the latest English and Spanish sounds otherwise. Price: €7–10 for live shows Opening time: Thurs– Sat 9.30pm–6am

    4 Chastón c/Plaza Ariño 4 Pleasant city-centre bar with jazz and blues sounds, a mellow, woody interior with lots of comfy cushions and a summer terraza. Starts getting busy after 11pm. Opening time: Daily 6.30pm–1am or later

    5 Cucaracha c/Temple 25 Raucous place in the heart of Casco Viejo's bar district, especially popular for its range of mind-numbing shots. Tends to get busy well after midnight. Opening time: Wed– Sat from 9pm

    6 Da Luxe Plaza de la Pilar 12 Plush discoteca, home of the late-night party crowd, just behind the main turismo. Opening time: Mon– Wed & Sun noon–3am, Thurs– Sat noon–6am

    7 Oasis c/Boggiero 28 A grand old concert hall a glitzy disco and pub, with live shows that sometimes include drag acts. Opening time: Fri & Sat from 9pm
