The former Khrushchev mansion contains the Pushkin Museum (muzey A.S. Pushkina), with ten rooms devoted to the life and works of the poet. Besides his sketches and first editions, the mansion's interior is notable for its elegant fireplaces and ceiling frescoes. Built of wood covered in stucco, its exterior is colonnaded on two sides; the entrance is on Khruschevskiy pereulok, around the corner. Here you'll find a large, modern glass-roofed extension that hosts temporary exhibitions on diverse aspects of Russian culture – from Symbolist poetry to Soviet pop music.
