Norwegian currency consists of kroner, one of which, a krone (literally "crown"; abbreviated kr or NOK), is divided into 100 øre. Coins in circulation are 50 øre, 1kr, 5kr and 10kr; notes are for 50kr, 100kr, 200kr, 500kr and 1000kr.
