www.archaeologiemuseum.it Price: €8, a ten-minute walk west of the centre at Address: Via Museo (Museumstrasse) 43 is a must. Its major exhibit is the Ice Man, the frozen, mummified body of a man discovered in the ice of the Ötzaler Alps in 1991. At first it was thought that the body – nicknamed "Ötzi" – was that of a soldier or a mountaineer, then an investigation revealed that, amazingly, it dated from around 3300 BC. Visitors can view the mummy through a small window in a high-tech refrigeration unit while a video suggests how he may have come to his untimely end.
