The Corso ends with one of the architect's most imperious buildings, the Palazzo Chiericati (begun in 1550), now home of the Museo Civico, also known as the Pinacoteca. The core of the picture collection is made up of Vicentine artists, none of whose work will knock you flat on your back; it's left to a few more celebrated names – Memling, Tintoretto, Veronese, Tiepolo – and some fine fifteenth-century painting to make the visit memorable.
