Housed in a restored convent, the Galleria d'Arte Moderne its collection of nineteenth- and twentieth-century Sicilian works displayed thematically (portraits, nudes, mythology, seascapes, landscapes etc) to great effect. The café, spilling into the courtyard in summer, is one of the loveliest places in the city for lunch or an aperitif.
