Getting Around
Within the historic centre walking is generally the most efficient way of getting around, and the imposition of the zona a traffico limitato (ZTL) - which limites traffic in the centre to residents' cars, delivery vehicles and public transport - has reduced the once unbearable pollution and noise, though many of the central streets are nonetheless so busy that you'll find it hard to believe any restrictions are in operation.
