Its small Museo di Astronomia (Tues– Fri 10am–1pm & 2pm–4pm, Sat 10.30am–1.30pm & 2.30pm–5.30pm; free) is home to a number of eighteenth-century instruments and a frescoed map of the constellations – painted just seventy years after Galileo was imprisoned for his heretical statements about the cosmos.
