The city's joint bus ( 
091/562000) and train stations ( 091/561444) are on the southeast side of the landmark Eyre Square, though a new bus station opposite the tourist office on Forster Street is planned. Coming in by plane, you might just be lucky enough to coincide with the daily bus from Carnmore Airport, 7km east of town, into the city centre (Mon– Sat 1.30pm; €4.70); otherwise a taxi from the airport costs around €15.
