County Wicklow
If your time in Ireland is limited, it's well worth considering a stay in Dublin, followed by a few days touring its southern neighbour, County Wicklow (Cill Mhantáin; 
www.visitwicklow.ie ). After just an hour or so's drive from the capital, you can be on a glorious, sandy beach, or high up in the fresh air and magnificent scenery of the Wicklow Mountains. With such a variety of backdrops on Dublin's doorstep, Wicklow is also an attractive county for film-makers: Braveheart, Excalibur and many others have been shot here, and the county's film commission produces a film-trails brochure for committed buffs.
