2 Café Fiedler/Sandwich Holstenstr. 92. A first-floor traditional café that serves the cakes and chocolate Kiel Fisch of a renowned Konditorei downstairs. Adjacent bistro Sandwich is a good bet for a pit stop of soups and quiche.
3 Kieler Brauerei Am Alten Markt 9 Sturdy meals and fresh beers brewed in-house in a faux historic pub that feels instead like dining in a cave.
4 Louf Reventlouallee 2 (Kellinie) 0431/55 11 78 Whether as a restaurant or a café-bar, this is one of the coolest spots in Kiel in summer, when deckchairs and Strandkörbe bring a beach vibe to its harbourside terrace. Menu-wise it's international and snacks.
