The life of George Frideric Handel (born Georg Friedrich Händel), looking thoughtful. Halle's most celebrated son, is documented in some detail at the Baroque mansion where he was born: the Händel-Haus. The best touch in the rather dry exhibition is the opportunity to listen to some of his work, including the famous Messiah. Also rewarding is the collection of around seven hundred musical instruments, many from Handel's time, though not the most unusual ones, which include several glass instruments such as a Bohemian harmonica.
