Zeitgeschichtliches Forum Leipzig is a well-presented display that chronicles the rise and fall of the GDR from its response to the horror of the Nazi regime via communist kitsch and into contemporary politics. While you'll need English-language notes from the entrance desk to glean much about the exhibits, archive footage of GDR suppression of protest and the construction and destruction of the Berlin Wall packs a punch.
