Getting around

At present, all routes of the public transport system operated by LVB (single €2, day-card €5.20; www.lvb.de ) circuit the Altstadt, bar bus #89 through the centre. By 2010, an extended project to put an S-Bahn stop beneath the Markt should come to fruition. Most routes pass outside the Hauptbahnhof; other transport hubs are Augustusplatz east of the Altstadt and Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz south. Bike rental is available from Zweirad Eckhardt ( 0341/961 72 74) at Kurt-Schumacher-Strasse 4 on the west side of the Hauptbahnhof.
