www.downtown-dresden.de DJs spin a mixed box of party tunes – depending on the night, electro, house, big beat, indie or hip-hop. Keep an eye out for Thursday's legendary neo-rave Nasty Love Club, playground for fetishists and freaks.
2 Flower Power Erfurter Str. 11 www.flowerpower.eu Sweaty student favourite with unpretentious nights daily, mostly rock and oldies – beware the rock karaoke midweek.
3 Puschkin Leipzigerstr. 12 www.puschkin-club.info Hip nights coming from the left-field side of clubbing; jungle and drum ‘n' bass, electro and disco. Always interesting. The club is located off Alexander-Puschkin-Platz.
4 Strasse E Werner-Hartmann-Str. 2 www.strasse-e.de A cultural centre in an industrial area 1km north of the Neustadt, whose eight or so club nights cover all bases: from disco and house to the dark side of Goth. If none of those appeal hip-hop and house club Fahrenheit 100 (www.fahrenheit100.com) at no. 3 is worth a look. Take tram #7 to "Industriegelände".
