As sleekly incongruous as a digital watch in a costume drama, the Neues Museum is Nuremberg's elegant glass-fronted museum of contemporary art and design, whose collections span everything from Op Art by Bridget Riley to an ERS2 satellite. The art collection includes works by Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter and Georg Baselitz, and there's groovy modern furniture aplenty, including a roomful of the defiantly ephemeral Italian Memphis movement of the 1980s. Excellent temporary exhibitions ensure the experience remains fresh and thought-provoking.
