Getting around

Cologne is an enjoyable city to explore on foot, but sooner or later you're likely to make use of the public transport system ( www.kvb-koeln.de ), which includes S-Bahn and U-Bahn metro networks – the latter emerging above ground at various points to become tramways, extending as far out as Bonn– Bad Godesberg. A €1.60 Kurzstrecke ticket is valid for up to four stops; to travel further within the city you'll need a €2.40 CityTicket, or a €6.90 TagesTicket, which can be used from the moment it is validated until 3am the following day.
