The immense Baroque facade of the Electors' Schloss – now the university – extends the full width of the Hofgarten, a broad expanse of lawn fringed by small museums. In the Koblenzer Tor of the Schloss itself is the Aegyptisches Museum, which contains the university's Egyptology collection, with displays relating to everyday life in ancient Egypt as well as mummies and religious artefacts.
