Yhe Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst is a former 1920s umbrella factory whose glass-roofed building provides an ideal setting for regularly changing exhibitions of contemporary art, with masses of space for large-scale installations. The permanent collection is strong on American Pop Art, including Duane Hanson's life-size Supermarket Lady complete with shopping trolley and junk food, Robert Rauschenberg's Spray Shield Marathon and Andy Warhol's Portrait of Peter Ludwig. There are also works by Sigmar Polke, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Roy Lichtenstein.
