5 Fichtekränzi Wallstr. 5 069/61 27 78 One of the nicest of Sachsenhausen's Apfelwein taverns, with a wood-panelled interior, a spacious garden and a menu of Frankfurt specialities. Opening time: Daily from 5pm; the garden closes around 1hr before the bar
6 Kanonesteppel Textorstr. 20 069/61 18 91 Traditional Sachsenhausen tavern, with Grüne Sosse and Handkäs mit Musik to anchor down the 0.3 litre Gerippte of Apfelwein, a simple interior and a garden.

Long Island Summer Lounge Parkdeck 7, Parkhaus Börse 069/29 72 36 96 Very stylish summer-only bar atop a financial district car park, with two pools, four bars and children's play area. The trendy Long Island City Lounge on the ground floor is open all year round.
8 Pulse Lounge Bleichstr. 38a Sprawling bar, restaurant and club that's among the most stylish lesbian and gay venues in Germany. The cocktails usually hit the mark, and the back garden is one of the best alfresco spots in the city.
9 Schwejk Schäfergasse 21 As tacky and camp as Pulse is slick and stylish, this small but incredibly popular gay bar is nevertheless enormous fun. Opening time: Open until 2am Fri & Sat
10 Sinkkasten Brönnerstr. 5–9 Live rock and jazz, karaoke, oldies nights and Latin disco nights are all on the programme at this versatile, long-established place just off Zeil.
11 Stattcafé Grempstr. 21 Vaguely bohemian in a city that can seem relentlessly bourgeois, this is a nice place to unwind over a glass of wine in the prettiest part of Bockenheim, with daily specials chalked on a board and seating outside. U-Bahn Kirchplatz.
