The Naturmuseum Senckenberg's giant dinosaur skeletons are a rainy-day godsend for parents with small children. Scary monsters aside, the museum's natural history collection is remarkably comprehensive, and includes a section on the fossil finds from the Grube Messel, worth seeing before you visit the site itself.
