Originally a Carmelite monastery, the church of St Anna has been Protestant since 1525. The late Gothic Goldschmiedekapelle (goldsmiths' chapel) is dedicated to St Helen and decorated with beautiful frescoes; at the west end of the church, the showy Renaissance Fuggerkapelle, commissioned by Jakob Fugger the Rich for himself and his brothers and built between 1509 and 1512, quite upstages the nave of the church. St Anna is closely associated with Martin Luther, who stayed here in 1518; there's a small museum, the Lutherstiege (same hours; free) on the subject.
