1 König von Flandern Karolinenstr. 12 Gasthausbrauerei in a historic cellar brewing its own Drei-Heller-Bier, a Doppelbock under the Alligator name and a dark beer; there's also food.
2 Mahagoni Bar Ulrichsplatz 3 Cocktail bar and dance club that's just about the most happening place in Augsburg at the moment, with a music policy that runs the gamut from rumba and reggae to funk, soul, hip-hop and rock.

Pantheon Maximilianstr. 67 Sophisticated smokers' bar with classy cocktails and Cohiba cigars. Early in the evening it's jazzy and laid-back – people even read books – but it gets noisier later on, and there are regular DJs at weekends. It's in the Villa Sandi, a Renaissance landmark that houses several bars.
