1 Au Bureau place Plumereau One of a number of places serving pizzas and simple dishes on the square, but of a slightly higher calibre than its competitors.

02.47.20.80.20 Intimate wine bar and restaurant that manages to be elegant and relaxed at the same time. Serves good regional dishes to go along with the excellent local wines. Main courses at around €15. Opening time: Closed Sat & Sun
3 Comme Autre-Fouée 11 rue de la Monnaie 02.47.05.94.78 The food served here is a revival of the archaic fouace (or fouée) breads immortalized by Rabelais, served hot and heavily garnished with local titbits. An excellent option for a quick lunch. Opening time: Closed Sun, Mon & Tues lunch
4 Au Lapin qui Fume 90 rue Colbert 02.47.66.95.49 Tiny, relaxed but elegant restaurant serving a good menu that's half Loire and half south of France. Lots of lapin (rabbit) – it comes as a terrine, as a fricassée with rosemary, or confit – but it's not obligatory. Evening menus around the €20 mark.
