The Côte d'Azur

Arrival

The city's airport, the Aéroport Marseille-Provence 04.42.14.14.14, www.mrsairport.com is 20km northwest of the city, linked to the gare SNCF by bus (every 20min 6.15am–8.50pm; later buses meet flights; €8.50). The gare SNCF St-Charles ( 3635) is on the northern edge of the 1er arrondissement on square Narvik with the new gare routière alongside at 3 rue Honnorat ( 08.91.02.40.25). From the gare SNCF, a monumental staircase leads down to boulevard d'Athènes and thence to La Canebière, Marseille's main street.
