Getting around

Much of the city centre is pedestrianized, but you can street park outside the centre and there are many well-signed municipal garages. TAM city buses run between the stations and outer districts (as far as coastal Palavas), while the Petibus crosses the city centre – tickets cost €1.30 (day ticket for €3.20) and cover both services for one hour, including transfers. The green transport policies of Montpellier have also resulted in the construction of a tramway, sweeping across town from northwest to southeast, as well as over 120km of bike paths running throughout the city and to the sea.
