Ajaccio's Campo dell'Oro airport ( 04.95.23.56.56, www.ajaccio.aeroport.fr ) is 6km south of town; shuttle buses (three per hour 6.30am–10.45pm; 04.95.23.29.41) provide an inexpensive link with the centre, stopping on cours Napoléon, the main street – tickets cost €4.50 one way, and the journey takes around twenty minutes. Heading in the other direction, the best place to pick up buses to the airport is the car park adjacent to the main bus station (terminal routière), a five-minute walk north of the centre ( 04.95.51.55.45). Ferries also dock nearby, and the SNCM office is directly opposite at quai l'Herminier ( 04.95.29.66.99). The gare CFC lies almost a kilometre north along boulevard Sampiero ( 04.95.23.11.03, www.ter-sncf.com/corse ), a continuation of the quai l'Herminier.
