It has a good-value lunch for €13.50, while Burgundian classics and more refined offerings mingle on the more expensive menus (from €28). Doubles as a wine bar-cum-cellar; the superb wine list offers lots of help for amateurs.

If the menus (€29–45) are nothing extraordinary, composed of the usual regional suspects, the setting most certainly is: a handful of tables set spaciously beneath the stone vaults of a twelfth-century crypt, in a refined atmosphere of classical music. 7 Au Moulin à Vent 8 place François Rude 03.80.30.81.43 A popular brasserie in a colourful, timbered house on one of the city's prettiest squares. Boeuf bourguignon and oeufs meurette are both on the menu. The room upstairs houses a more formal restaurant.
