Arrival

Fast train services on the East Coast main line link York to London, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Trains arrive at York Station, just outside the city walls, a 750-yard walk from the historic core.

National Express buses (0870/580 8080) and most other regional bus services drop off and pick up on Rougier Street, 200 yards north of the train station. East Yorkshire buses ( 01482/222222) serve Hull, Beverley and Bridlington; Yorkshire Coastliner buses ( 01653/692556) run to and from Leeds, Castle Howard, Pickering, Scarborough and Whitby.
