3 The Forum 127–129 Devonshire St 0114/272 0569 www.forumsheffield.co.uk Long the mainstay of the Devonshire Quarter, the Forum has a great menu and laid-back clientele, opening for breakfast and serving drinks till late. Opening time: 10am–1am

4 Nonna's 535–541 Ecclesall Rd 0114/268 6166 www.nonnas.co.uk Glam see-and-be-seen Italian bar and restaurant with a great reputation. Restaurant reservations advised.

5 Vietnamese Noodle Bar 200–202 London Rd 0114/258 3608 Out of the centre, but really worth the trip for terrific Vietnamese and Chinese food. Always busy.
