The redevelopment of the Longmarket area in the early 1990s exposed Roman foundations and mosaics that are now part of the Roman Museum. The display of recovered artefacts and general design of the museum are tasteful, with re-created Roman domestic scenes and a computer-generated view of Durovernum.
