Arcidiecézní muzeum
Opening time: Tues– Sun 10am–6pm
Price: 50Kč
A former episcopal palace now holds the Arcidiecézní muzeum, with a stunning collection of Gothic paintings and sculpture, much of it atmospherically located in the Romanesque halls and passageways of the basement – the surviving remnant of the palace's twelfth-century original. Visitors can also inspect the rajski dvůr or "paradise yard", a cloistered garden, while Renaissance frescoed corridors lead down to the restored chapel of sv Jan Křtitel (St John the Baptist), in which are exhibited fine statuary and fragments of the original palace.
